Migration

While a majority of migrants manage well on their own, several situations linked to migration and displacement can affect people directly and put them in situations of vulnerability that require external support.

How we work with migration

Taking a route-based and integrated approach, we work with partners to address needs, challenges and potential vulnerabilities at all stages of migration and displacement. We help people uphold their rights and dignity and help empower them in their search for opportunities and sustainable solutions, while also promoting social inclusion and addressing the needs of vulnerable host communities.

Our work focuses on four main areas:

  • Exploring the impact of and addressing protection risks linked to climate crisis and displacement

  • Providing humanitarian support centred on route-based assistance through humanitarian service points

  • Strengthening resilience and opportunities to enable self-reliance in cases of protracted displacement

  • Applying evidence-based humanitarian diplomacy work to facilitate protection and social inclusion
